Short Bio

I wear two hats:
•My entrepreneur's hat: I am the co-founder and one of Zeetta Networks's directors, a University of Bristol start-up company providing Open and Smart Networking solutions for enterprises and operators. The company was founded based on pioneering research on Software Defined Network, and Network Virtualization developed in the High-Performance Network Group at the University Bristol. In my role in Zeetta Networks, I helped define the product, create the business model and attract a significant venture capitalist investment. I also built the development and engineering team for the company. I am currently responsible for the technology and product road map of the company.

•My academic hat: I am currently a Professor, Head of High-Performance Networks Group, a Senior Member of IEEE, and a Fellow of UK Higher Education Academy in Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, University of Bristol, UK. I have established a successful research area on Software Defined Network and Network Virtualization as part of a big research group, i.e., the High-Performance Network Group. Throughout my academic career, I have made important and pioneering contributions to the fields of optical networking, Grid networking, data center networks, software-defined and programmable networking, network infrastructure, and function virtualization. I have written or co-authored over 200 peer-reviewed papers and several standardization documents. I am a research associate in ONF, and I am also currently involved in several UK EPSRC and European Union-funded research projects.
